Throughout the last decade, the government of Viktor Orbán has co-opted or forced the closure of most of Hungary’s independent media, replacing it with outlets that follow the directives of his right-wing populist, anti-migrant party Fidesz. But there are still news organizations that despite all odds, continue to hold Orbán’s government accountable. Report for the World is supporting these outlets as they offer an alternative to propaganda and stand up against authoritarianism.
