Andrés de la Peña is a journalist specialized in data analytics and digital reporting. He is part of ‘Catálisis” the data and technological application team at Mexican investigative organization Quinto Elemento Lab. Before joining the team, he worked for 6 years as an independent reporter in Guadalajara, Mexico’s second largest city, where he covered issues related to human rights, missing persons, environment, and the housing crisis. During this time, he also worked as a project manager at ZonaDocs, a local independent news website, and as a funding consultant in the same organization.
Andrés has a bachelor in International Relations, specialized in International Cooperation for Development. He’s trained in C#, SQL, R and Python for data analytics and cybersecurity. He holds a diploma in sustainability and environmental law.
