Raquel Muigai is an award-winning journalist focused on human rights, governance, and climate change storytelling. Her work in these fields has earned her both local and international recognition, including the KAS Media Africa Award for Local Journalism, the Sustainable Development Goals Kenya Award, and the African Climate Change and Environmental Reporting Award. She has also been recognized by the Media Council of Kenya several times.
For the last five years, Raquel has undertaken local and international assignments including COP27 in Egypt, Health Vaccine Conference in Nigeria, UNEP at 50 in Kenya among others. Her work has been published by various media houses in Kenya like KTN NEWS, Citizen TV and CGTN Africa and also featured in news pieces and commentaries by Le Monde in France, Nigeria’s News Central, South Africa’s eNCA channel and Funke Channel in Germany among others. Raquel Muigai is an alumna of the 2022 Women in News Fellowship.
