Ronald Flier Toito’ona is an award-winning journalist from the Solomon Islands, known for his outstanding contributions to media and communications in the region, especially in the areas of fisheries and environment.
His Journalism journey began in 2015, when he joined Solomon Islands leading daily newspaper, the Solomon Star, after studying for a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Political Affairs at the University of the South Pacific (USP), in the Republic of Fiji Islands.
Ronald has spent well over nine-years in the media fraternity of his country, doing different jobs in the mainstream media and public relations. Over the nine years of experience, he has been a Reporter, covering the financial, business, environment, fisheries, sports rounds, a travel-writer, sub-editor, and Public Relations and
Communications Officer.
He joined In-depth Solomons in January 2024 as a Webmaster and Investigative Journalist. That was the job he held, until early May, when starting off in his new role as the Financial Investigative Reporter, a corps member under the GroundTruth/RFW and In-depth Solomons partnership.
